Meet the Staff
Class Descriptions:
Stretch and Release: A 45 minute class that offers gentle stretching exercises for all ages and all levels of fitness.
Callanetics: increases muscular strength, endurance and joint flexibility. Uses light weights for toning.
Step-N-Sculpt: 45-minute class incorporating step aerobics with weights. Last few minutes spent on strengthening abdominals.
Step: A workout that incorporates cardiovascular and muscular endurance combinations using a step bench.
Toning: Exercises that include an abdominal workout at the end of a low or step areobic class.
Chair Exercises: Toning exercises from a chair. This class is designed for active older adults. Enhancement and improvement of functional capacity is the main concern. Lots of socialization.
Basic Step: A beginner step class. In this class you will learn the basic moves of step, "Basic step" and "Repeaters."
Intermediate Step: This class is a little faster than basic step and a little slower than advanced. Some hops and jumps are incorporated into easy choreography.
Advanced Step: An intense step workout for the person with step experience. This class incorporates quick choreography changes with squats, kicks and jumping jacks.
Box aerobics: Stretching followed by intense aerobic workout. Utilizes moves from kickboxing, tae kwon do, and karate.
Pilates: A series of body sculpting maneuvers that strengthen muscles, improve posture and tone the midsection (abdominals, back and waistline). No weights are used, only your body weight.
Interval Challenge: An intense aerobic workout that involves the step, and may include either kickboxing or low/high impact aerobics depending upon the instructor's preference. Weights are incorporated during the aerobic segment of the class. The class ends with abdominal exercise.
Body Sculpting: Fewer repetitions but heavier weight than callanetics. This class utilizes the step, weights, and your own body weight to increase muscular strength and endurance for a total body workout.
Yoga: Gentle stretching exercises to tone the muscles and relieve stress.
